MON Energy, LLC was formed in 2023 to help serve the increasing demand for vintage pre-REA wind generator parts.

MON Energy has been involved in small "vintage" wind generators for over 3 decades. We specialize in providing parts for these pre-REA wind generators as well as supplying full restoration services for these durable pieces of history. Our specialty surrounds the Jacobs brand of wind generators as well as many others.
MON Energy was formed in 2023 and is an extremely small company, but have been refurbishing and restoring pre-REA wind generators for over 30 years. We specialize in the pre-REA Jacobs brand of wind generator that was manufactured in the 1930-1950's time period. These 32 or 110 volt DC machines continue to be a dependable source of power for people both off-grid and on-grid. Our inventory of new and used parts for these vintage wind generators is quite extensive, so drop us a line with what you are looking for. If we don't have it, we will do our best to try and help you find it. Or, with our extensive machine shop capabilities, we might be able to make it for you. New Blades Available!
Contact us today if you are in need of new blades for your machine. We have the capability to reproduce almost any wood blade out there, up to 15 feet in length. If we do not have your blade pattern on hand, we can create it if you have a good blade to copy. Contact us to learn more.
Full Restorations
With our restoration services, you can either provide us with your machine you already own and have us restore it for you, or we also have a large inventory of used machines in stock that are waiting for a new home that we can restore for you. We are very flexible and here to help you meet your needs. Restorations typically involve breaking the entire turbine down to every last nut and bolt. Worn or damaged parts are replaced or repaired, new bearings are installed, armature & field windings are re-insulated and baked, commutator is turned and undercut, all parts cleaned and repainted. After re-assembly, the machine is placed onto our custom built test bench and the generator is dyno'ed under full load to verify full functionality before it ever leaves the shop, and long before it reaches the top of a tower, giving confidence in knowing that your restoration will perform.
New Blades
Part of our specialty is being able to provide new wood blades for nearly any small wind generator out there. We own and operate our own custom built "blade duplicating lathe" and have many blade patterns to be able to provide you with new blades. If we do not have the pattern for the blade you need, we can make it for you if you have one good one to copy. Drop us a line with your needs and we will be glad to help! The original Jacobs blades were manufactured from Sitka Spruce. This specialty wood is getting extremely hard to obtain and is extremely expensive. MON Energy has a limited quantity of genuine Sitka Spruce blanks on-hand and ready to be manufactured into new blades. All new blades are made to order, so be sure to contact us with your needs.

Confidence via Verification
-Fully Tested-
Every machine that is restored by MON Energy is fully dyno tested in-house prior to being returned to you. The machine is run under full load whereby output and functionality is fully verified before the turbine ever reaches the top of a tower. If you have a machine that you would like tested, we can do that as well.
